Citroen C2 (Review)

August 15, 2013 by admin

The Citroen C2 is A car I had the pleasure to own and run. From first sight it is an attractive car with unique good lines and styling. Although small car it has an impressive road stance. The colour was silver with black bumpers which blended well. Wheels were an acceptable profile and size which help the it a substantial look for it’s size.

This particular model was a three door hatchback. The doors opened with plenty of room to get a larger person in without a struggle. The tailgate door was split with a lift up top section and drop down lower section giving a huge opening into the rear. However the rear stow area with all seats in position is limited but. Drop the rear seats flat and the stow area dramatically expands. I’ve been surprised at the size of stuff it’s taken from furniture to cartons. Enter the driver or passenger door and there’s another surprise.

There is just so much room and it’s like entering a full sized car. All be it a full sized car with the rear chopped off. You just get the impression of spaciousness, a little like entering the Tardis for those of you who are Dr. Who fans. This one is a manual 1100. Ok so how does it drive. Firstly I found the seating position excellent with no complaints. Dash board layout good with nothing to obstruct the view of gauges etc.

All things considered very satisfied. Switch the engine on and it’s super quiet,I like it. heading off down the road it’s an easy car to adapt to and drive. gear change is excellent. Nice tight H no sloppiness. You know exactly where the gears are and movement though the box gives complete confidence with changing gears. Would have liked a little more power from the engine but then we always do but the performance did not disappoint me.

Looks and performance this is an excellent small car. Servicing intervals keep the annual maintenance cost down but I do have one major gripe. When it came time for the first MOT it failed because the brake discs had worn below acceptable levels. Brake discs that last only one set of pads. I wasn’t impressed with that and I let the dealer know. I had no mechanical problems at all. Overall 8 out of 10 an excellent value for money car I would buy again
