MG’s come from a racing heritage, and this heritage has never been more present than in the 2002 onwards MG TF. Replacing the MG F of former years, the TF features an updated cock pit layout, seats, facelift bumpers, grille and headlight and tail lights… Also, in a range of metallic paint, from electric blue to bright yellow, MG TFs are a great idea for a mid range fast used car, not exactly fast with models of 135 bhp and 160 bhp, even 180 bhp in some special editions, however the common and cheaply priced 1.8 engine model is a great mid engined sports car.
Rear wheel drive, some big brake models also come with Brembo 4 pot callipers to ensure you stop in time on the race track! This light weight and modern two seater sports car does come with a few draw backs, for example doing anything mechanical to the engine is somewhat of a pain, as the mid engined sports car has a operators hatch, however getting more than a childs arm in there is a struggle, if you have big hands, then an MG TF is not a car you can work on at home, unless you drop the engine out, infact, this is the best way to work on this car, simply drop the engine out from underneath at the rear of the car…
So to surmise, they are cheap, they aren’t the most reliable car but do look good for the money! So fast used car fans, consider an MG TF for some summer fun in the sun!
