Motor racing is a dangerous sport even when professional drivers are involved. News broke yesterday of a crash at the Goodwood 79th members’ meeting 2022 where a car has mounted the barrier, lifted into the air and split in half resulting in the driver being treated by medical staff.
Thank you for your patience. There has been a serious incident on the track. The driver is currently receiving medical attention on site. We will provide an update as soon as we can.

Extensive restoration work required for both vehicles….
During the impact, the front of the Mercedes 300 SLS was severely damaged, wings, bonnet, headlights and sub frame are damaged. The two wheels were blocked so that the car could no longer roll on it own.
The consequences of the accident on the Jaguar are even more dramatic: the Mercedes hit him in the rear at a shallow angle. The chassis and the entire rear part of the body are damaged. Extensive restoration work is now pending on both racing cars.
