LED Lights for Cars… Why?

April 19, 2014 by admin

LED lighting for drivers would not only help the drivers who are using the lights, but the general public. Overall, better lighting for cars would improve the safety for other drivers as well as for pedestrians who may be walking at night. Many drivers are restricted to dull and ineffective lighting, which can cause many accidents when in driving conditions that produce poor visibility such as rain, snow, or fog. Moreover, LED lighting would greatly improve the safety of drivers who must avoid deer or other animals that frequently cross the road, causes many accidents and car damage, as well as death in extreme cases.

LED lighting is known for its directional power. Unlike a regular headlight, LED headlights direct a large amount of light in specific directions, rather than wasting an exponential amount of light that is spread over a large area. When this happens, drivers are given a dull and poorly lit view of the road in front of them. With LED lighting they are able to the details that may save their life or the lives of other drivers in hazardous weather or bad driving conditions. Another benefit that LED lighting provides is energy efficiency. With the capability of producing 135 lumens/watt, LED lights will save energy, which is in obvious need of conservation at every chance we get. LED light bulbs also have a longer lifetime, which also helps with the environment as there are less light bulbs put into the waste and earth.

A longer light bulb lifetime also guarantees drivers a financial relief as well as the convenience of not having to change the bulb. What may be the most beneficial part of LED light bulbs as far as environmental protection is concerned is their environmentally friendly makeup. LED bulbs contain no mercury, as well as other hazardous substances that may be put into the environment once they are disposed. Another factor that will be extremely beneficial to drivers as far as feasibility, is the LED bulbs’ ability to light up despite temperature conditions. Even in subzero weather, the LED light bulb does not fail to deliver in efficiency. Regular bulbs tend to get duller and have a shorter life when exposed to freezing temperatures.

LED light bulbs are not only a benefit to drivers safety, they will save them time, money, and stress of changing light bulbs frequently. Most importantly, LED light bulbs are much better for the health of our environment, an urgent issue that must be addressed for many obvious reasons.
